I’m a nut when it comes to fitness shoes. I love them all, want them all, NEED them all. But of course, I can’t buy them all. But one that I’ve had my eye on since they released the very first version is the Reebok Crossfit Nano 6.
I’ve heard amazing things about the Reebok Nanos with most being that they really help keep the weight distributed where it needs to be for exercises. For example…for squats the weight is supposed to be in the heels and this shoe is supposed to help with that. I have a horrible time keeping the weight in my heels during squats. I constantly want to lean forward, putting the weight in my toes. It’s getting better but still needs improvement.
So I was STOKED to get my very first pair of Reebok crossfit nano’s a few months ago. I’ve owned all sorts of fitness shoes. From running to cross-training and cheap to expensive. My current pair are my Brooks running shoes that I LOVE for running. But I do a lot of HIIT and weight workouts and the Brooks weren’t giving me the support I needed for those.
Enter the Nano 6. First…they are super comfy. I had heard there was a break-in period so they would be uncomfortable at first. Not mine. Really comfortable and I really liked the way they looked. The shoes are Kevlar-infused making them more durable and they are surprisingly light for how stable they feel.
I LOVE them for my HIIT and weight workouts. They keep the weight in my heels for my squats and lifts so I feel grounded when I do my exercises instead of feeling like I’m going to fall over. They also grip into the ground better allowing for a better push through the heel when using weights.
The only downside for me, running. I did not like them for long runs. Sprints, they worked well but I wouldn’t recommend them for people who run a mile or more at a time. But, I have a good arch in my foot and these shoes flatten that arch a bit making it really uncomfortable for me when I run. I know some people who love them for running but they don’t have the arch in the foot.
Overall…The Reebok Nano 6 are a great pair of shoes. I adore them and would recommend them to anyone doing a lot of HIIT workouts or weighted workouts with just a little bit of short distance running.
