*Monday Morning Coffee Date is filled with all the things I’d share if we were actually having coffee this morning
Wow. So it’s already been a Monday and it’s only 8am. The kids are cranky, I’m cranky….so today should be fun.
In parenting news…I’m really working with Big C on his ice skating skills. Apparently he wants to be a professional hockey player when he grows up which is awesome but you kinda have to know how to skate. He’s also having a really hard time with reading. So, every day we work on that. Sight words and reading together and more sight words.
K had her first ever sleepover that wasn’t super close by. I was a nervous wreck, she was totally fine. Yeah. She has also decided that she wants to be a Disney animator when she grows up while the littlest has his sights set on police officer AND iron man. Not one or the other but both.
And in other parenting news, I got my first “I hate you” from one of the minons. I know he didn’t mean it but that didn’t make it sting any less. Parenting is rough and I keep hearing that it gets easier but I’m thinking not so much.
In fitness news, I was in a bit of a rut for a couple weeks but I’ve been back at it and am finally seeing some results. I had to switch things up a bit but I’ve found something that is working great and hopefully stays that way. I’m working hard at getting some workouts written up so I can incorporate them here and should be able to do so in the next week or so….so definitely stay tuned for that.
In life news, I have started reading again and read Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur in about 30 minutes. This book is amazing. Rupi Kaur’s writing is raw and honest and beautiful. It brings out so much emotion and there really is a poem in here for anyone.
Oh! And I’m finally all caught up on This Is Us. Still amazing and pulls at the heart strings every single episode. And I LOVE it.
I’m not one to talk politics on this space but I do want to comment on what is happening in our world. I feel like it is filled with hate and we are responding to that hate with more hate. I get on social media and all it is is people fighting and hating. It’s sad and scary. Guys…fill the world with kindness. Responding to hate with hate is doing nothing but making things worse. I always remember my parents telling me, “kill them with kindness” in response to someone doing something I didn’t like or someone being mean to me. So do it. Fill the world with kindness. Be the good. We can make changes in life and in the world without tearing each other apart.
