Hollywood Studios. Known for Tower of Terror and The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. While not my favorite park, there are a few gems at Hollywood studios that shouldn’t be missed. And, in a year or so it will be a completely different park with the addition of Star Wars world and an expansion to the Toy Story area. Part of the reason it isn’t the best park right now is because so much of it is being rebuilt.
But! Don’t miss out on the few gems that are here. It is a park that can be done in half a day. So head over in the morning and then spend the afternoon at the pool or another one of the parks (I recommend Epcot or Magic Kingdom if you’re going in the afternoon.).
Tip 1: Rides that should not be missed
There are only a few rides at Hollywood studios and only about 3 that shouldn’t be missed. Toy story mania is fun for the whole family. And for the older crowd, head over to Tower of Terror and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Both are awesome.
If you want to fastpass these rides, you can’t do all three. Disney has it set up so you can choose one ride from a certain list and then two other rides from another list. Both toy story mania and the roller coaster are on that first list. So, I recommend using the fastpass for the Rock ‘n’ roller coaster and tower of terror and going to toy story mania first thing because the line does get long.
And! If you have small kids and want to do the big rides, take advantage of Disney’s rider swap. One can go on while the other waits with the kids and then the other parent can go. It’s a win-win.
Tip 2: Eat at the Brown Derby
It’s amazing. And worth every penny
Tip 3: For the littles
But what if you have little kids? There are some really fun things for the littles, just not in ride form. They have a Jedi Training show which is awesome for any kids that love Star Wars. And they have a Little Mermaid show, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and Disney Jr. All things the parents might not love but the kids do.
Tip 4: Characters
Hollywood studios is home to some characters that aren’t at other parks. Here’s a full list but some not to miss are Olaf, BB-8, Kylo Ren, and the Disney Jr Favorites (Sophia, Jake, and Doc McStuffins). These ones can only be seen at Hollywood Studios.
And that’s it! If you have any questions…let me know. If I can’t answer it, I’ll find someone who can. Happy planning!!
