A little over 3 years ago, my family was in a really rough place, which is a very lengthy post for a different day that may or may not be written. All I know is during that time there was a lot of darkness. And I really needed some light.
I remember being at my breaking point and driving my now 7 year old to his first day of VPK. I was just flipping through the radio stations looking for a song to put a smile on my face.
And maybe I should tell you that I’m not a fan of radio shows. Most of them are horrible and the others aren’t suitable for kids in the car….a big problem when you have 3 kids in the car. But, I kept shuffling through the morning shows hoping one of them would play a happy song. I just needed something to make me happy…even if I was only happy while that song was playing.
But anyways…I was driving him to school and flipping through the radio channels. And then I heard this voice on one of the big country stations. It had to be the friendliest voice I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. So I stopped shuffling stations and just sat there and listened.
And I laughed. A lot.
Turns out, I won the morning show jackpot. And I’ve been listening to that morning show, The Bobby Bones Show, every day since.
The show is amazing. It’s honest, it’s happy, it’s real life, and I’m pretty sure Amy and I should be besties in real life. I adore her.
And it’s more than just a radio show. It honestly feels like I’m just hanging out with my friends. And I credit Bobby, Amy, and the rest of the show, for getting me through one of the toughest times of my life. Fight. grind. Repeat. has been a daily mantra for a few years.
And through the show, they help so many people. They are the creators of Pimpin Joy, a movement that encourages people to help others. And once a year, they do Joy Week, which is always epic and happens to be next week.
Through The Shop Forward, they sell shirts, hats, tote bags, and more to help raise money for various organizations. All profits made from the merchandise is donated. Every penny. My collection is pretty epic and I only plan to add more.
Bobby Bones even wrote a bestselling book and it is amazing. His story is one that encourages you to never give up. Reminds us that there’s always a reason to keep moving forward.
Moral of the story….they’re amazing. And they kinda make me want to move to Nashville so we can all hang out.
And a huge thank you to Bobby and the rest of the show. Y’all changed my life, got me through some really tough times, and help me see the positives of life every day. From the bottom of my heart…Thank you.
