I guess I should start by telling y’all I’ve never been a big self-help book person. Not that I don’t need them because, let’s face it, I’m human. I just was never into them. But, everyone changes.
My first experience in the self-help book world was with Present over Perfect, an amazing read. And it was while I was reading this book that I started looking for others. All of a sudden I went from self-help books being not my thing to being completely hooked.
So, I ordered a few (or 10) and then had to decide which one was lucky number 2 on my self-help book list.
I am quickly becoming a @brenebrown superfan. If you haven’t read this book…do it. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read 🙌🏻 thank you Brene Brown for writing it. * * * * #brenebrown #daringgreatly #bookstagram #bookworm #currentread #currentlyreading #currenty #goodmorning #wednesday #humpday #coffee #coffeetime #coffeelover #coffeemug #coffeelife #coffeelove #mood #riseandgrind #liveauthentic #happiness #momlife #inspiration #booklover #reading #inspirationalbooks
Enter Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Guys. I loved this book. LOVED. There is nothing bad to say about it, at least in my opinion. The book is all about vulnerability and how allowing ourselves to be vulnerable can transform our lives in every aspect. I think a lot of people hold back vulnerability, myself included, out of fear. Fear of many things, but for me, fear of what people will think or say about my story…about the things I’m most vulnerable about.
In the book, Brene Brown breaks down how we arm ourselves against vulnerability and the things we can do to start breaking down those walls. And she isn’t just giving her opinion on this. She is a researcher, someone who has taken the time to study everything she’s writing about. She brings her readers the facts and then takes those facts and turns them into beautiful words that resonate with everyone reading.
The entire book is amazing. However, if you only read one chapter…read the last one. Chapter 7: Wholehearted Parenting. And then print out The Wholehearted Parenting Manifesto, print it out, and hang it somewhere you can read it every day.
And because I love y’all, I’m giving away one copy of Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Entering is easy. All you have to do is leave a blog comment sharing a book you love and follow Raising Chaos over on Facebook and Instagram! One Winner will be chosen randomly on October 3rd!
